Homer Junior High Baseball Takes Fourth At State Tournament

Homer ended the season with a 12-5-0 record.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Homer Junior High School baseball team took fourth place at the Class 3A state tournament in Peoria last weekend.

The team faced Mt. Zion in the first round of the tournament, defeating the team 1-0 and advancing to the semi-final game, according to IESA results.

Homer faced off against Morton Junior High School, losing 1-5, and was matched up with Champaign's Edison for the third-place match. The Mustangs lost 1-4 in the third-place match, and took fourth place at the state tournament, according to IESA results.

Frankfort's Summit Hill won the Class 3A state tournament, with Morton taking second place.
