Homer Junior High, Oak Prairie Girls' Volleyball Teams Head To State Tournament

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Eighth grade girls' volleyball teams from both Homer Junior High School and Oak Prairie Junior High School have advanced to the IESA Eighth Grade Class 4A state tournament.

The tournament will be held March 20-21 at Morton Junior High School.

Oak Prairie and Homer Junior High both won their own sectional championship games, earning advancement to the state tournament.

Oak Prairie is set to play Arlington Heights' Thomas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in the first round, according to IESA. Oak Prairie is 21-3, and Arlington Heights is 22-2.

Homer Junior High is set to play Edwardsville's Lincoln at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, according to IESA.

Winners of the first round games will advance to the semifinals, which will be played on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
