HOMER GLEN, IL — The Homer Junior High School varsity baseball team has won the Illinois Elementary School Association's 2021 Class 3A state tournament.
The Homer Glen team were named the champions after defeating Morton Junior High School 4-1 in the state championship, according to the IESA website.
HJHS defeated Minooka 5-4 in the first round and defeated Unity Junior High School 5-3 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship against Morton.

The team finished the season with a 16-1-0 record. The state tournament was held at Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
