Homer Township Library Receives $50K Grant To Support Job Seekers

The library said the grant will provide for 30 new computers and other resources for the workforce.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Homer Township Public Library District was awarded a $50,000 grant from the state of Illinois. The grant, Job Seekers Wanted - Bouncing Back from the Pandemic, supports libraries in providing resources and services to those seeking jobs, according to the Secretary of State website.

The library said the grant will provide for 30 new computers and other resources for the workforce. The library was also recently awarded a $57,612 State of Illinois Per Capita grant, which supported new materials, additional programming and community services, the library said.

“Grants are a competitive process and are actively sought to benefit our community members,” Executive Director ShereeKozel-La Ha, who submitted the grant, said. “We are honored to receive awards. Establishing additional library technology and programming that will assist local residents in obtaining the job-related skills necessary for employment is a high priority.”
