Labor Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Homer Glen-Lockport

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer for most people, and many take advantage of the holiday to go on one last vacation or road trip. This year, Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2. Since Labor Day is a federal holiday, it means a day off work and no school for children, and many municipal services are also closed.

Here's what will be closed in Homer Glen and Lockport:

• Village offices in Homer Glen and city offices in Lockport are closed Sept. 2.
• Homer Township Public Library, closed Sept. 1 and Sept. 2
• White Oak Library District - Lockport Branch, closed Sept. 2
• Challenge Fitness in Lockport, closed Sept. 2
• Post offices closed
• Waste/garbage services, no services Monday. Services will be delayed by one day.
• Schools, closed Sept. 2

If you're heading out to the grocery store, a local business or restaurant on Monday, call before you head out as some businesses may have limited hours or may be closed.
