Learn Traditions Around The World At LTHS
Guests can come learn about different cultural traditions around the world at the event on Thursday at LTHS East.
LOCKPORT, IL — Head out to Lockport Township High School East Campus on Thursday to learn about different cultural traditions around the world.
The LTHS Language Honors Societies are hosting the event in the East cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Activities are intended for kids from kindergarten through fifth grade, but all ages are welcome.
Kathy Pratt, who sponsors the Spanish Honor Society at LTHS, said this is the first time the event is being held.

"This is a student-generated event and led by the members of the various world language honor societies," Pratt told Patch. "We are excited to have this opportunity to reach out to our community and provide them with a fun evening for the family."
The event will feature crafts, face paint, cake and authentic cultural food.

"Learning about other cultures and their traditions is an important part of being an educated, global citizen," LTHS senior Charlie Altman said.
There will also be a hat and mitten collection for those in need.
