Light Pole Strikes 3 Students During Lockport School Recess

LOCKPORT, IL — Three students were injured at William J. Butler School in Lockport after a light pole fell during recess, according to Homer District 33C's Facebook Page. The district said the light pole fell and struck three students congregated nearby during fourth grade recess on Monday.

The three students were picked up by their parents and evaluated at a local hospital. The district said it has been reported that all three students are OK.

"Our very first concern is the safety and security of all students, and do not consider this accident to be a trivial matter," the district wrote on its Facebook Page. "We will continue to investigate the cause and will check corresponding structures at all campuses for safety and integrity."
