Lockport Approves $1.8M Water Main Project
The Kelvin Grove rear yard water main replacement project was awarded to Austin Tyler Construction, which was the low bidder.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport City Council approved a $1,879,004.18 water main replacement project at its Wednesday meeting. The Kelvin Grove rear yard water main replacement project was awarded to Austin Tyler Construction, which was the low bidder, according to council documents.
The city said that rear yard water main poses issues to public works, as it's difficult to maintain and costly to the city when main breaks occur, council documents state.
Eighth Street and Holly Court are proposed for rear yard water main replacement and water service installation in the front yard, according to council documents. Maple Court and Milne Drive are also proposed for water service installation in the front yard, as the front yard water main was installed several years ago and services were never installed.
