Lockport Approves 2023 Schedule Of Meetings

LOCKPORT, IL — At its meeting on Wednesday, the Lockport City Council approved the 2023 schedule of meetings for the City Council, Plan and Zoning Commission, Board of Police Commissioners, and Heritage and Architecture Commission.

The committee of the whole meetings and City Council meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of the month. For 2023, these dates are: Jan. 4, Jan. 18, Feb. 1, Feb. 15, March 1, March 15, April 5, April 19, May 3, May 17, June 7, June 21, July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 16, Sept. 6, Sept. 20, Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Nov. 1, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6.

Plan and Zoning Commission meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month, at 7 p.m. In 2023, those dates are: Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.

Board of Police Commission meetings are held every third month on the third Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. In 2023, those dates are: Jan. 18, April 19, July 19 and Oct. 18.

The Heritage and Architecture Commission meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. In 2023, those dates are: Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March, 21, April 18, May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19.

All meetings are held at the Central Square building, 222 E. Ninth St.

In addition, City offices will be closed in 2023 on: Jan. 2 (New Year's Day observed), Jan. 16 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), Feb. 20 (Presidents' Day), a half day on April 7 (Good Friday), May 29 (Memorial Day), July 4 (Independence Day), Sept. 4 (Labor Day), Oct. 9 (Columbus Day), Nov. 10 (Veterans Day observed), Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving Day), Nov. 24 (floating holiday), a half day on Dec. 22 (Christmas Eve observed), Dec. 25 (Christmas Day), a half day on Dec. 29 (New Year's Eve observed) and Jan. 1, 2024 (New Year's Day).
