Lockport Approves $4.7M Water Main, Road Reconstruction Project
The scope of the project includes improving utility reliability, and repairing the roadway, curb and parkway conditions.
LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Lockport City Council approved a $4.7 million contract for the Fifth to Ninth Street water main and road reconstruction project.
According to council documents, four projects have been joined to make one larger project "in order to minimize effects to residents." The four projects include: Eighth, Washington and Jefferson reconstruction, Madison and Seventh reconstruction, Sixth and Jefferson reconstruction, and Sixth and Hamilton reconstruction.
Council documents state that $6,875,000 was budgeted for the project, and the bid was awarded to Austin Tyler for $4,770,378.26. The city received six bids for the projects, and Austin Tyler was the lowest bidder.
