LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Lockport City Council approved a cost sharing agreement between the City, Lewis University and the Village of Romeoville for a phase 1 engineering study for a connector bike path.
The shared cost agreement commits Lockport to $170,000 in budget funds to co-share the $510,000 task order, according to council documents.
The path, which would connect the college campus to downtown Lockport, would possibly go across the IL-7 bridge, according to council documents.

Lockport will contract V3 for design and engineering for phase 1, according to council documents. The project is budgeted for in fiscal year 2022, but some cost may end up in the fiscal year 2023 budget.
