LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport City Council moved forward with its downtown parking master plan with the approval of a professional services agreement with SP+ at its Wednesday meeting.

According to council documents, downtown Lockport continues to face parking challenges. The City does contract with a valet service, but comments from residents and business owners still note that parking is insufficient, according to the City.

The agreement with SP+, which is a parking operator and planning consulting, will provide a master plan that will "identify physical and operational considerations," council documents note.

A parking garage could be a recommendation of the plan, but the proposal does not include design services.
