Lockport City Council Approves Kennel, Dog Day Care

J&D Doggie Day Care will be located in a 8,051-square-foot building in the prime business campus.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport city council approved a special use permit and the final development plans for a kennel at its June 19 meeting. The business, J&D Doggie Day Care, will be located in a 8,051-square-foot building in the prime business campus, which is near 167th Street and I-355.

In May, the Planning and Zoning commission recommended approval for the business. According to board documents, the board had to grant a special use permit since pets could stay overnight at the business. Dogs will be kept inside from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. even with overnight boarding allowed.
