Lockport Hosts Rain Barrel, Composter Sale For Residents

LOCKPORT, IL — The City of Lockport is offering subsidized rain barrels and composters for Lockport residents.

The sale ends July 21, with mail-in orders due July 18. There is a limit of 1 subsidized rain barrel and one subsidized composter per household, according to the city website.

You can find a list of products here, the subsidized products are usually about half the price of the unsubsidized products.

Participants must be City of Lockport residents. The city said pick-up will be July 25-29 at Public Works.

Rain barrels are large containers that capture stormwater from your roof, which you can then use to water your lawn and gardens, according to the city website.
