Lockport Man Found Safe After Reported Missing In Great Smoky Mountains National Park

LOCKPORT, IL — After a multi-day search of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Marcin Bachleda-Blaszczak, of Lockport, was confirmed safe in North Carolina outside the park, the National Park shared on its Facebook.

The National Park Service thanked everyone who assisted in the search by submitting tips and spreading the word, as well as to the many park rangers, volunteers and partner agencies who assisted with the search.

The search for the Lockport man began after he was reported missing on the evening of Aug. 24. His vehicle was later found in the parking lot at the Sugarlands Visitor Center near Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Over 50 park rangers and volunteers were actively searching in and around the park.

The incident is still under investigation, and no further details are available at this time, the park service said.
