Lockport Man Sleeping In Car Had 2 Arrest Warrants: Cops

Mendoza was found sleeping in his car, with the engine running, early Tuesday morning.

LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man was arrested Tuesday after a year with two warrants out for his arrest. Joliet Police arrested Julio Mendoza, 30, of the 100 block of Wesleyan, at 3:21 a.m. Nov. 14 for two warrants from 2016.

Mendoza was arrested in February 2016 by Romeoville Police Department for possession of cannabis and manufacturing and delivering cannabis, according to records. He failed to appear in court on those charges, which granted him his second arrest warrant.

Mendoza was also arrested in 2014 for possession of cannabis.

WJOL reported Joliet officers noticed Mendoza's car double parked, with the engine running, in the 800 block of Wilcox around 2 a.m. Tuesday. Mendoza was in the passenger seat, sleeping.

As of Wednesday, Mendoza is still at Will County Adult Detention Facility.
