Lockport Mayor Shares a Story
Mayor Steve Streit tells a story at STORIES R Us, December 13.

“Tell us a story Mr. Mayor.” Those words will be uttered on Wednesday, December 13th at STORIES R Us as Steve Streit, mayor of Lockport takes the stage. STORIES R Us is a free storytelling event which happens once a month at NIK & Ivy Brewing, 1026 S. State, Lockport. The stories told are by local storytellers that share a true personal narrative with the audience. The evening begins at 6:30 with music by Harold McCay followed at 7:00 with five stories. December storytellers are Nan Clinton, Amy Curtis, Paul Teodo, Joe Mallon and Mayor Steve Streit.
Steve Streit is a former Navy man and a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. He founded OH! Design Group in 1999. For over twenty years, he has used his design and marketing skills to help people connect to the marketplace and communities they wish to thrive in. He has been mayor of the City of Lockport for the last 10 years and appreciates the privilege of serving his community. In his free time he builds secret doors for his historic home and loves to go on adventures with his wife Wendy and their two teenage daughters.
Besides good stories, producer Barbara Eberhard also loves to give away “Fabulous” prizes to those that sign up to receive once a month emails. Who doesn’t love door prizes? Her goal is to create a community of storytellers. She seeks people interested in joining that community by hosting workshops. The next workshop will be held in the spring.
