Lockport Park District Outdoor Pools Not Opening This Season
Chaney Pool and Heritage Falls Water Park won't be opening this year.
LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township Park District won't be opening its outdoor pools this season. The park district, which operates Chaney Pool in Crest Hill and Heritage Falls Water Park in Romeoville, will keep both facilities closed for 2020.
Public Relations and Marketing Supervisor Pamela Hutton told Patch the park district never received guidelines from Gov. J.B. Pritzker for the reopening of aquatic facilities.
Hutton said it takes three weeks to open the pools, and staff would also have to be hired and trained.

"It’s just not realistic to open our pools for a month or less," Hutton said.
The park district also operates the indoor pool at Challenge Fitness in Lockport. The indoor pool will open beginning July 1 for lap swim and swim lessons.
