Lockport Police Release Memorial Day Enforcement Numbers

Lockport Police made two DUI arrests and one drug arrest during the additional enforcement.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement around the Memorial Day holiday from May 10- May 28. The department said the purpose of the enforcement was to remind motorists to drive sober and buckle up as part of the Illinois Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over effort.

The Lockport Police Department joined the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce motor vehicle crashes, injuries and deaths by arresting impaired drivers and issuing seat belt and other vehicle code violations.

  • 2 DUIs
  • 43 seat belt citations
  • 5 uninsured motorists
  • 11 speeding citations
  • 16 distracted driving
  • 29 other moving violations
  • 1 drug arrest
  • 1 child restraint citation
  • 2 suspended/revoked driver’s license

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
