Lockport Singer-Songwriter Releases First Album

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport singer-songwriter Andrea Veltri released her 7-song EP, "Starting Over," last month.

Veltri, who has performed in venues across the area, said this is her first album, and she is excited to share it.

"I started playing guitar when I was 5, and began taking lessons for voice and guitar when I was just 6," the long-time Lockport resident told Patch. "I was actually in a punk rock band from the ages 8-14. I started writing music when I was 9, and I never looked back."

Veltri described the music she creates as "honest, real and relatable."

"I write songs from the perspective of my own experiences, or the experiences of the people in my life," she told Patch. "I always want to be authentic, because at the end of the day, the people listening to my music have a direct gateway to who I am, and they learn more about me through my songs."
