Lockport Township Fire District Looking For Cadets

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township Fire Protection District is looking for young adults interested in fire service to apply to be a cadet.

Applicants will be given hands-on training and experience riding with Lockport crews, according to the fire district.

You can apply online to begin the process. Cadets must be between 16 and 21 years old, must complete the application process, which includes a medical exam, interview and background check.

The fire district said cadets must also be at least one of the following: a resident of Lockport Township Fire Protection District, an immediate family member of an active or retired LTFPD employee, attend classes at LTHS or Wilco Career Center.

Cadets must also complete a 6-week orientation, and be enrolled in school with a B average.
