Lockport Township Park District Presents WWII Battle Reenactment Sept. 10-11

History comes alive as re-enactors partake in World War II battle scenes and skirmishes.

WHAT: Lockport Township Park District presents a battle reenactment “World War II: March to Germany.”

WHY: History comes alive as re-enactors partake in World War II battle scenes and skirmishes. Other events happening on both days include field hospital demonstrations at German camps after battles; World War II weapons demonstrations and displays of vintage aircraft.

Away from the action, there will be entertainment for all guests to enjoy. Saturday’s lineup features music and dance lessons of the era featuring and a USO Show. Both days will present the Andrew Sisters Musical Review by the Legacy Girls.

Veterans of WWII and the Korean and Vietnam Wars can stop by a hospitality tent for refreshments and visiting.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11, members of the Illinois National Guard will conduct a flag raising ceremony at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 and educate the public about this somber event.
