Lockport Woman Earns Honorable Mention In Preserve Photo Contest

The preserve said the photo contest continues through December with monthly winners.

LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport woman's photo earned an honorable mention in the Forest Preserve District of Will County's August portion of its Preserve the Moment photo contest. Debi Shapiro captured a great blue heron stretching its wings at Isle a la Cache preserve to earn honorable mention, the preserve said.

The top spot went to Joliet resident Michelle Wendling's photo of tall grass on a misty morning at Hadley Valley Preserve, according to the preserve.

In addition to Shapiro, honorable mentions were awarded to Stuart Mann of Berwyn for a photo of purple coneflowers at Monee Reservoir; Michelle Richards of New Lenox for a photo of a well-framed shot of the sun at Hadley Valley Preserve; and to Byron Morgan of Crete for a photo of a front and its reflection in a pond at Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve.
