Lockport's StoryWalk Debuts New Story For Visitors

The StoryWalk, which sets pages of a children's book in holders, begins outside White Oak Library-Lockport branch.

LOCKPORT, IL — A new story is available at Lockport's StoryWalk, which winds its way around Central Square. "Explorers of the Wild" by Cale Atkinson is now on display, according to the city website.

The StoryWalk, which sets pages of a children's book in holders, begins outside White Oak Library-Lockport branch, through Central Square, and ends outside the west entrance of City Hall. Visitors can walk around, and read the book during their walk.

The StoryWalk is a partnership between the City of Lockport and White Oak Library District. The White Oak Library aims to replace the book four times per year, according to the City.

The StoryWalk debuted in December with "Little Elliot, Fall Friends," by Mike Curato.

The StoryWalk project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and was developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalks are now in all 50 states, and 14 countries.
