LTHS Approves 2023-24 School Year Calendar

LOCKPORT, IL — This school year may not be over yet, but the school calendar for the 2023-24 year has already been approved by the Lockport Township High School Board of Education.

Here's a look at some dates to know for the 2023-24 school year:

• Aug. 16, First day of attendance for students
• Sept. 4, no school, Labor Day
• Sept. 30, Homecoming dance
• Oct. 5, no school, parent-teacher conferences
• Oct. 6, no school
• Oct. 9, no school, Columbus Day
• Nov. 22-24, no school, Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 22, first semester ends
• Jan. 8, 2024, no school, teachers institute
• Jan. 9, 2024, students return from winter break
• Jan. 15, 2024, no school, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Feb. 17, 2024, TWIRP dance
• March 1, 2024, no school, teacher institute
• March 4, 2024, no school, Casimir Pulaski Day
• March 22, 2024, early release
• March 25-March 29, 2024, spring break
• April 1, 2024, no school
• April 20, 2024, prom
• April 26, 2024, early release
• May 17, 2024, last day of school for seniors
