LTHS Boys' Soccer Team Finishes Third At State Finals
LTHS defeated Morton 2-1 to earn third place at the Class 3A IHSA state finals.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School boys' soccer team made school history this weekend, earning a third place finish at the IHSA Class 3A state finals.
The Porters lost their semifinal match against York Community High School, 3-2, before facing Morton in the third-place match on Saturday, according to IHSA results. Lockport defeated Morton 2-1; while York went on to take first place in the state.
"This game, this season, and these playoffs truly exemplified what we want people to know about the Lockport community, our athletic family, and most importantly our boys soccer program," Athletic Director Michael Dwyer said. "[The team] truly displayed Porter pride each and every time they stepped on the field. Through adversity, the team consistently rallied and rose to meet each challenge together. In their final game together, they finished their journey winners, and will always be remembered as such!"

The boys' team roster includes: seniors Patrick Marshall, Makonnen Stampley, Danny Kajtezovic, Matt Rosier, Dylan Vilcek, Gabe Czako, Dylan Morgan, Michael Hasso, Braeden Roth, Peyton Abdel-Razik, Adam Doyle, Dawid Molek; juniors Mateusz Wrona, Dominic Williams, Zach Skiba, Sean Flannery, Ryan Pavelka, Jakub Michalik, Dan Jimenez; sophomores Luke Cibula, Nate Blazewski, Tyler Malczewski; and freshman Ismael Gomez.
