LTHS Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Breaks

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township High School students will soon head back to school for the 2019-20 school year. District 205 has released its school calendar for the year, which is full of important dates to remember for both parents and students.

The calendar includes dates like winter and spring break, holidays, conferences and half days. Here is the list of days you should know for this school year:

August

• Aug. 14 - First day of school

September

• Sept. 2 - Labor Day, no school
• Sept. 21 - Homecoming Dance at 7 p.m.

October

• Oct. 10 - Parent teacher conferences, early dismissal at 1:25 p.m.
• Oct. 11- No school
• Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, no school

November

• Nov. 19 - School improvement day, late start at 9:25 a.m.
• Nov. 27 - Early dismissal at 1:25 p.m. for Thanksgiving holiday
• Nov. 28-29 - Thanksgiving holiday, no school

December

• Dec. 18-20 - First semester final exams
• Dec. 20 - Winter break begins at end of day

January

• Jan. 6 - Teacher Institute, no school
• Jan. 7 - Teacher Institute, no school
• Jan. 8 - Classes resume from winter break
• Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school

February

• Feb. 15 - TWIRP Dance at 7 p.m.
• Feb. 17 - Presidents Day, no school

March

• March 2 - Casimir Pulaski Day, no school
• March 27 - Spring break begins at end of day

April

• April 6 - Classes resume from spring break
• April 10 - Good Friday, no school
• April 13 - Easter Monday, no school
• April 18 - Prom at 7 p.m., Museum of Science & Industry

May

• May 21, 22 and 26 - Second semester final exams
• May 25 - Memorial Day, no school
• May 26 - Tentative last day of school
• May 30 - Class of 2020 graduation at 4 p.m.
