LTHS Cheerleading Takes Second Place In State

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School cheer team took home a second place trophy after the IHSA state finals were held in Bloomington on Feb. 6-7.

LTHS said this is the program's 21st state appearance, and its 14th state trophy.

"We are so proud of our student-athletes and coaching staff for an outstanding season of athleticism, focus, and dedication," the District said on its Facebook.

According to IHSA, Lockport had a score of 97.00, and placed second in the Class 3A state finals. Lincoln-Way East took first place, with a score of 97.92, and Edwardsville took third with a score of 96.88.
