LTHS Girls Bowling Named State Champions

The team had a score of 12,353, beating out second place Machesney Park, which had a score of 11,955.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School varsity girls bowling team won first place as a team at the IHSA girls bowling state final Feb. 21-22. The team had a score of 12,353, beating out second place Machesney Park, which had a score of 11,955.

According to the IHSA website, senior Samantha Traina also finished in the top 10 individual bowlers. She came in fourth with a score of 2,559.

Earlier this season, the team also took first place at regional and sectional competition.

The team is coached by head coach Art Cwudzinski and assistant coaches Andrew McCormick and Linda Siezaga. The team roster includes Traina, junior Meghan Bacys, sophomore Isabella Colon, senior Emilie Pleshar, sophomore Emma Punter, senior Jessica Ramirez, junior Chloe Siezega and junior Payton Vandenburg.
