LTHS Senior Named Semifinalist In Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Semifinalists are in the running for 150 college scholarships worth $20,000.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township High School senior Jaxson Gauthier, of Lockport, has been named a semifinalist in the 2022-2023 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, hosted by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

Only 1,557 students were selected from over 91,000 applicants, according to the Foundation.

"I was so happy to hear that Jaxson was chosen as a semi-finalist for this scholarship. Coca-Cola could not have chosen a more deserving recipient. Jaxson is an amazing student and leader with a mature sense of priorities," LTHS school counselor Debbie Turrisi told Patch. "He has proven that he can balance a schedule of our most difficult courses as well as a very full calendar of extracurricular activities. Not only is he capable of high achievement within his rigorous course load, but he is an athlete as well. Somehow, he has also managed to accrue more community service hours than any student that I have ever had! I admire his dedication to LTHS and also to our community, and look forward to hearing about all of his future successes."
