LTHS Students Qualify For IDEA Drafting State Competition

LOCKPORT, IL — Several LTHS students have qualified for a statewide competition after their performances at the IDEA Regional Drafting Competition on March 6.

The regional competition was held at Joliet Junior College, and 47 LTHS students participated, the District shared.

Due to their performance at regionals, 14 students qualified for the statewide competition. The District said the state competition will be held April 12 at Illinois State University.

State qualifiers include: • Lilly Slowik • Juliana Reyes • Abby Noel • Gavin Nusko • Aaron Lukaszewski • Brianna Smith • Sebastian Estevez Caceres • Alyssa Trower • Adam Avisonis • Brayden Heidt • Kolton Smentek • Eli Kehoe • Sofia Liotine • Anthony Ochoa

"Their outstanding work in engineering design, architecture & CAD drafting earned top placements across multiple categories. Good luck to our students as they advance to state competition next month," the District said on its Facebook.
