Messenger Marsh Trail Section Closed For Maintenance

The trail will be closed for pipeline maintenance work, which will take about seven to 10 days to finish.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The eastern loop of the Spring Creek Greenway Trail at Messenger Marsh preserve will be closed starting Thursday, according to a release from the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

The trail will be closed for pipeline maintenance work, which will take about seven to 10 days to finish, the preserve said.

A permit has been issued to Enbridge Pipeline and Casper Construction for maintenance of the existing pipeline east of the Messenger Marsh dog park. Barricades will be installed in the work area blocking access to the trail loop, according to the preserve.
