Military History Weekend In Lockport: Schedule Of Events
The event will feature Civil War, World War II and Vietnam War reenactments, as well as live music and entertainment.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township Park District will host a Military History Weekend on Sept. 11-12 at Dellwood Park, 199 E. Woods Drive. The event will feature Civil War, World War II and Vietnam War reenactments, as well as live music and entertainment.
Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and under, adults 55 and older and veterans. Tickets can be purchased online.
The park will open at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, with the following schedule of events:

Sept. 11
- 11 a.m. - World War II battle
- 12 p.m. - "Sweet Reminder," covering the Andrew Sisters, 50s and 60s classics
- 1 p.m. - Civil War battle
- 3 p.m. - World War II battle
- 4 p.m. - "Fortunate Sons," a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band
- 6 p.m. - Bridge skirmish
- 6:30 p.m. - Vietnam battle (with pyrotechnics)
- 8 p.m. - USO show featuring "Silver Bullet"

- 11 a.m. - World War II battle

- 12 p.m. - World War II girls baseball living history demo, the Rockford Peaches
- 1 p.m. - Civil War battle
- 2 p.m. - Bridge skirmish
- 3 p.m. - World War II battle
- 5 p.m. - camp closes
There will also be a veterans hospitality tent offering free food and beverages, from 12:30 to 2:30 both days. The tent is sponsored by AARP and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5788.
