Military History Weekend Returns To Dellwood Park Sept. 9-10

The event includes battle reenactment, live entertainment and a veterans hospitality tent.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township Park District will host its annual Military History Weekend at Dellwood Park, 199 E. Woods Drive, on Sept. 9-10. The event includes battle reenactment, live entertainment and a veterans hospitality tent.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under, seniors and veterans, according to the park district.

The veterans hospitality tent welcomes all veterans and will offer free food and beverages from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10.

  • 1 p.m., Civil War battle
  • 3 p.m., World War II battle
  • 4 p.m., "Fortunate Sons"
  • 6 p.m., bridge skirmish
  • 6:45 p.m., Vietnam battle
  • 8 p.m., USO show featuring Silver Bullet

Sept. 10

  • 9:30 a.m., Encore Concert Band
  • 11 a.m., World War II battle
  • 12 p.m., "Sweet Reminder"
  • 12 p.m., World War II girls baseball living history demo
  • 1 p.m., Civil War battle
  • 2 p.m., bridge skirmish
  • 3 p.m., World War II battle
  • 5 p.m., camp closes

Note that all battles will display pyrotechnics.
