Mosquito Spraying Planned In Homer Glen
In Will County, one trap sample in Plainfield has already tested positive for West Nile Virus.
HOMER GLEN, IL — A community-wide mosquito spraying is scheduled to take place on Thursday night in Homer Glen. Weather permitting, the village said spraying will be between 8:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.
If it rains on Thursday night, the treatment will take place on Friday night, or the first night following that does not have rain. Residents can receive advanced notice of spray events by contacting Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management directly. Residents can sign up through their Mosquito Hotline at 800-942-2555 and ask to be added to the “Prior Notification List,” for the Village of Homer Glen.
In Will County,one trap sample in Plainfield has already tested positive for West Nile Virus. The wet spring has already led to an unavoidable bad season for mosquitos, according to the Will County Health Department. The department said the Environmental Health Division already has 14 traps in various locations for the purpose of tracking possible West Nile Virus activity among culex mosquitos.
