LOCKPORT, IL — Marcus Theatres has closed on seven acres of property in Lockport off of I-355 and 159th Street. The theater will be a part of the Lockport Square shopping center, and will hopefully open in 2019.
City Administrator Ben Benson said the theater has closed on the property and will submit final applications for approval for the city council in February or March of 2018.
Benson said the theater will have 8-10 screens with 100 seats apiece, nice leather seating, and a possible restaurant and bar. There will be dining at the theater, but the exact dining plans are solidified yet.
