New Homer Glen Trustee Appointed, Sworn In

Backal is a 25-year resident of Homer Glen and had served as the chairman of the plan commission since 2015.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Broque Backal was appointed and sworn in as the newest village trustee at the Homer Glen village board meeting May 27. Backal replaces Ann Holtz, who resigned from the village board on April 30.

The village said Backal is a 25-year resident of Homer Glen and was the chairman of the plan commission. According to board documents, he had been the chairman since 2015.

"He has a solid knowledge and understand of the village's codes and regulations and is actively involved in many of the long-range projects being undertaken by the village," Board documents state.

Backal will serve the remainder of the term until the next trustee election in April 2021.
