Joseph W. Rainford
Joseph Rainford, age 85, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 25, 2026, at Renwick Nursing and Rehab with his loving family by his side. Born June 25, 1941 in Joliet, IL he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen (nee Gould) Rainford.

Joseph loved watching the Cubs, especially with his wife Carol. He loved playing games with his nieces and nephews, especially outdoor games in his younger years. In his later years, he enjoyed playing dice and bingo. He worked for many years at Washer Works in Rockdale and later at Jewel. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. Joseph was always the first to arrive and the last to leave at the family gatherings. His family was the heart of his life.
Joseph is survived by his nephews, Brian (Maureen) Carey, and Matthew (Cherie) Binzen; nieces, Janet (Greg) DeNardis and Michelle (Matthew) Hunt; nephews, John (Melissa) Rainford, Jeffrey (fiancé Adrianna) Rainford, and Jason (Melissa) Rainford; niece, Lisa (Larry) Paez; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol; two brothers; and a sister.
Visitation for Joseph Rainford will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
