Oh, Baby Co-Op Opens In Lockport, Offers Support For New Parents

A new co-op is opening in Lockport, and will offer support for soon-to-be and new parents.

LOCKPORT, IL — A new business in Lockport will provide support for soon-to-be and new parents with birth classes, photography and more. Oh, Baby Co-Op, located at 900 S. State St., will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.

According to the business, the reception will provide a chance for families to meet the co-op's founders, enter prize giveaways, and learn more about the services Oh, Baby Co-Op offers. The business will offer birth classes and support, post-partum services and care products, private lactation services, home birth midwifery and doulas, prenatal massage, newborn and pregnancy photography, car seat installation checks and more.

“We currently have eight unique businesses using Oh, Baby Co-op to reach parents, as well as non-profit
groups that offers free support meetings and services," Danielle Meintanis, a childbirth education
instructor and a founding member of the co-op, said in a release.

According to the business, in addition to the services offered by the co-op's members, Oh, Baby provides a space for free breastfeeding and C-section/VBAC support meetings, furthering their mission of supporting parents for every step of their journey.

"Oh, Baby Co-Op is the kind of resource we've dreamed of being able to offer parents for years," Meintanis said in a release. "It's a great way for new parents to find everything they need under a single roof. We just want you to have the best experience possible with a supportive network.”
