Orland Hills Native in Porchlight’s Latest Streamed Concert
Orland Hills Native to be featured in "New Faces Sing Broadway 1947" at Porchlight Music Theatre, streaming April 8 to May 6.

Orland Hills native Destiny Strothers will be featured in New Faces Sing Broadway 1947 at Porchlight Music Theatre, which highlights the next generation of talent, alongside host Robin DaSilva and nine other up and coming talents. Audiences can expect to be taken on a 90 minute musical journey of the 1947 Broadway season through song, historic information, trivia and sing alongs. New Faces will be available for streaming beginning Friday, April 8 at 12 p.m. CDT through Thursday, May 5 at 11:59 p.m. CDT.
Destiny Strothers is a native of Orland Hills, Illinois where she attended Carl Sandburg High School. She graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago. Her theater credits include The Homeless Monologues at The Goodman Theatre, Dontrell Who Kissed the Sea at First Floor Theater, and Derrick Sanders' Short Film "Perfect Day.” Strothers has been nominated by the Black Theater Alliance for her portrayal of “Cat” in Eclipse Theatre’s Breath, Boom.
New Faces Sing Broadway 1947 is directed by Adrian Abel Azevedo, with music direction by Linda Madonia and was filmed on-site at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts where Porchlight Music Theatre is an in-resident organization. Now in its 27th season, Porchlight Music Theatre is the award-winning center for music theatre in Chicago. Porchlight has built a national reputation for boldly reimagining classic musicals, supporting new works and young performers, and showcasing Chicago’s most notable music theatre artists, all through the intimate and powerful theatrical lens of the “Chicago Style.” Porchlight’s commitment to the past, present and future of music theatre led the company to develop this New Faces Sing Broadway program series.
