In-Person Graduation Planned At LTHS

LOCKPORT, IL — While many graduation ceremonies and end-of-year events were canceled due to the coronavirus, Lockport Township High School is moving forward with an in-person graduation ceremony on Saturday.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at Lockport East. According to the district website, graduates will have different check-in times and locations based on their last name. Each graduate is allowed two guests, who will process with them through the building.

"While planning this graduation ceremony, the most important consideration was for the health and safety of LTHS families and staff," the school website states.

Families are asked to wear a mask while in the building, although graduates can remove their masks for photos; follow physical distancing of six feet or more; and don't attend the ceremony if you have any symptoms of the coronavirus.
