Lockport Police Make Warrant Arrest During Halloween Enforcement
Police issued 12 seatbelt citations, two speeding citations, one distracted driving citation and one suspended driver's license violation.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department made one warrant arrest and issued several violations and citations during its recent Halloween enforcement effort, the department said in a release.
In addition to the arrest, police issued 12 seatbelt citations, two speeding citations, one distracted driving citation, one suspended driver's license violation and 15 other moving/equipment violations during the Halloween campaign.
The department said law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more motorists buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from Oct. 16 through Nov. 1.

Extra emphasis was also placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the
most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur, police said.
The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds
administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide Drive
Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
