Prowl For Owls At Messenger Woods Nature Preserve

The free event is for those 18 and older, and will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 30.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Will County will hold a guided hike to listen for owls, a Holiday Owl Prowl, on Dec. 30 at Messenger Woods Nature Preserve in Homer Glen.

The free event is for those 18 and older, and will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.

If you're an owl enthusiast, you can come to the program and learn which owls can be found in Illinois, and then head out on a guided hike to see if you can hear any nearby, according to the preserve.

The hike may be up to 2 miles long, and participants should register by Dec. 29.

Messenger Woods Nature Preserve is on Bruce Road, east of Cedar Road.
