Reports Of Ruse Burglaries On The Rise In Will County: Sheriff
Police have received multiple calls in recent days about ruse burglaries.
WILL COUNTY, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office has received multiple calls from residents recently about ruse burglaries in Will County, the sheriff's office said on its Facebook.
Police are advising residents to be cautious and aware of people who come into your neighborhood or your home, and identify themselves as utility workers that you didn't call for.
The sheriff's office said that if someone approaches you outside and begins discussing any type of problem or work that needs to be done in your backyard or inside your home, do not engage in conversation. Residents should call police or the company that the unknown person claims to be employed by.

Do not allow these people into your home or walk with them in your yard. While you are in your yard with one person, another person could be inside your home robbing you, the sheriff's office said.
