ROOFTOP Summer Music Series at the Joliet Museum

The 2016 Outdoor ROOFTOP Summer Concert Series at the Joliet Area Historical Museum starts on May 19th featuring the South Side Exiles band!

A different live performance featured each month on the Joliet Area Historical Museum’s Outdoor Rooftop Terrace. Doors open at 6:45 pm & shows start at 7:30 pm. Beverages (Soda, beer, wine, water) available for purchase (coffee & snacks free). Only $8.00 for Museum members & Students or $10 for General Public! In case of inclement weather, shows will be held in the Museum’s Indoor Auditorium. Check out this year's fantastic line-up!

May 19th – South Side Exiles The Chicago rock crew known as South Side Exiles play original songs written and performed in the classic American style of the 1970s rock tradition, and their debut LP stands as proof that the old sound is just as charged and solid as it ever was. Playing their originals and tunes inspired by Chuck Berry, The Stones, Lou Reed, The Faces, & more!

June 9th – Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials "A bazooka assault of foot-stompin' blues and slow-burnin' knee-bucklers." - Chicago Sun-Times; Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials throw down old-style house-rocking shuffles, duck-walking struts and stomping rhythms as if marching down the tabletops at an all-night club…fearsome” - The Chicago Tribune;

July 14th – M&R RUSH M&R Rush had its beginnings in the 70's, and in 1980, "The Loop" radio chose M&R Rush to be on their first hometown album, and the song "Rock & Roll Chicago", became the most requested song off the album. M&R Rush has shared the stage with Styx, Survivor, Sammy Hagar, Judas Priest, Black Oak Arkansas, Head East & others. The excitement continues with the band’s 2016 Life is GOOD Tour!, playing their own hits and classic rockers from Styx, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Queen & more!

August 11th – SOUL MOTION Soul Motion is a dance band that features great music from many genres including Soul, Motown/Stax, Classic R&B, Funk, Blues, Classic Rock and Pop. You will hear hits from across the decades by artists like Joe Cocker, James Brown, J. Geils Band, Wilson Pickett, and Bruno Mars… all chosen to get you up and dancing, singing along or just grooving along with the band.

August 26th – STRUNG OUT Special Friday Show! Strung Out is Chicago’s most unique classic rock band. Their dynamic blend of guitars, cello, violin, keyboards, bass, and percussion, topped off with outstanding vocalists, create an unforgettable sound. You’ll hear Classic Rock, Pop, Southern Rock, AM/FM Radio Cuts, and everything in between. So get ready to sing, dance, and have fun with the amazing musical experience only Strung Out can provide.

September 8th – Righteous Hillbillies The Righteous Hillbillies are a rock ‘n’ roll band launching a revival of the Southern spirit of blues boogie, soul groove, along with the primal & visceral energy of rock ‘n’ roll power. With every Allman Brothers or Stax-Volt style lick, and impassioned shout in a method similar to Chris Robinson, Righteous Hillbillies are an axe shredding demonstration of Southern Rock vitality and the value of authenticity.
