Schilling School parents need to ask themselves if they’ve been naughty or nice this holiday season.
Santa brought his Secret Shop to school this week, giving students an opportunity to pick out a special gift for their family and friends.
“What happens if the bag rips?” one eager student asked has he was handed a paper shopping bag.

Students scoured the tables of merchandise, looking for the perfect gift for Mom, Dad and their siblings. There were necklaces and rings to consider for Mom, Cubs paraphernalia for Dad and stuffed animals or squishy toys for siblings.
The event was organized by the school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

“We believe this program will create wonderful memories for the children while teaching them to budget their money,” said PTO Secretary Jennifer Sikora.
Event coordinator and PTO volunteer Paula Subler made sure students were given gift planner envelopes to help them decide who to purchase gifts for and how much they could spend.
Other PTO volunteers manned the cash registers and gift wrap table.
Students came down to Santa’s Secret Shop one class at a time, giving students plenty of room to shop during their regular media center time.
