Second Annual Chalk Art Contest Planned In Homer Glen
Prizes will be awarded in the categories of "Best Use of Color," "Most Interesting Characters," and "Most Creative Theme."
HOMER GLEN, IL — The village of Homer Glen will hold the second annual sidewalk chalk art contest and park celebration, 'Chalk It Up,' on Aug. 3. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stonebridge Park, 16000 S. Stonebridge Drive.
The village said residents can fill Stonebridge Park with chalk art. To accommodate an increase in registrants, the Parks and Recreation Committee has identified 150 available squares of sidewalk to be colored this year and has planned music, facepainting and more.
The village said the Parks and Recreation Committee and community member and mural artist Amy Blank are organizing this event to encourage the Homer Glen community to participate in the creation and enjoyment of art. Anyone can participate in the event.
