District 33C, LTHS E-Learning Days: Lockport Winter Weather

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Winter weather is expected Thursday, as up to seven inches of snow is possible. Homer Glen and Lockport are under a winter storm warning from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, and slippery road conditions are expected during the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
Freezing rain and sleet will begin late Wednesday into early Thursday, followed by a period of heavy snowfall on Thursday afternoon and evening. 3 to 7 inches of snow is possible, as well as a light glaze of light accumulations.
Several area school districts have announced schools will be closed or e-learning days will take place on Thursday. In Lockport and Homer Glen, the following schools will be impacted by the winter weather:

- Milne-Kelvin Grove District 91, e-learning day on Thursday
- Homer District 33C, e-learning day on Thursday
- Lockport Township High School, e-learning day on Thursday
- St. Dennis School, e-learning day on Thursday
The City of Lockport sent out an update to residents about garbage services, asking for garbage and recycling to be placed at the curb by 5 a.m. on their scheduled pick-up day. Drivers will start servicing the area at 5:30 a.m. due to the expected winter weather, the City said.
