Will County Sheriff Increases Police Presence For Return To School
As kids head back to school this week, the sheriff's office said officers will be patrolling and present at the schools during the day.
WILL COUNTY, IL — With the return to school this week, the Will County Sheriff's Office said it has increased the deputy presence at all schools within unincorporated Will County jurisdiction.
Over the summer, the sheriff's office said it has been in contact with each school's administrators and has put plans into place to provide an increase in police presence in order to ensure safety and peace of mind to parents, students and staff as the school year begins.
Additional deputies have also been assigned to patrol school zones in marked and unmarked squad cars, according to the sheriff's office. Officers will also be walking outside and inside of schools as kids arrive and depart, and at times during the school day.

School zone speed limits and school bus stop arm and flashing light laws will be strongly enforced, the sheriff's office said.
