Tree surveys for the project started earlier this year. The study is being done because the pavement of the roadway was constructed in the 1980s, and is at the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.

While the project includes Parker Road, Chicago-Bloomington Trail, Hadley Road and 167th Street, the project name is Parker-Hadley Road, according to the Will County Department of Transportation. The project is in parts of Homer Glen and unincorporated Will County.
